§ HOW WE COUNT

One meaning per number.

Every tile, sheet and email on Knect Ads Manager uses these words the same way. Hover a tile for the short version; this is the long one.

§ Delivery

Showings
Times the ad was drawn on a page, including just below the edge of the screen. This is what you pay for.
Seen
Showings that stayed on screen: half the ad for one second for a picture, two seconds of play for a video or audio spot.
Seen rate
Seen divided by the showings we could measure. Thrown-out showings are in neither.
Thrown out
Showings we judged to be bots or repeats. Never billed, never counted.
Taps
Times somebody tapped the ad. Tap rate is taps divided by seen.

§ People

People
How many different people the ad loaded for. A signed-in member counts once; everyone else counts once per device. Per campaign, and distinct across the account on the Overview.
Times each
Showings divided by people, over the window.
Reach before you pay
The different real people these spots served in the last four weeks, cut down by your distance, hours, areas and interests. Never more than that, and hidden under ten.

§ Results

Sales
Orders, bookings and tickets with money on them, inside Knect or on your site.
Leads
Form sign-ups, calls and other hand-raises with no money on them yet. A lead you mark won with a value joins the sales value.
Actions
Saves, follows, directions and menu views after a tap. Never counted as sales.
Cost per sale
What you spent divided by sales. Cost per lead is the same over leads.
Return on spend
Sales value divided by what you spent.

§ How a result gets tied to an ad

Inside Knect
After a tap on your ad, with no time limit. Or within one day of seeing it, when the same person buys from the same business.
On your site
Only after a tap, within 30 days, through the pixel or your server. Seeing the ad alone never counts.
Once each
The same order id counts once, even if the page reloads or your server retries.
Test events
Kept out of every number. They show only on the Tracking page.

§ Clocks

Flight days
Los Angeles days. A campaign starts and ends at midnight Pacific.
Report days
End at midnight UTC, which is 4 or 5 pm Pacific. The Overview, the campaign page, the CSVs and the Monday email all use this day.
Hours you pick
Each viewer's own clock. Evenings means their evening.
Times per person per day
Resets at midnight UTC.
Your time zone
Set in Settings. It picks the first start day a new campaign offers and how payment times read. It never moves flight days or report days.
Statements
A month runs on UTC days, so a statement matches the numbers on every other page.

§ Money

Rate
Per thousand showings, frozen for each spot the moment you pay. The campaign page prints it beside the cost per thousand seen.
Budget, paid, spent, left
Budget is what you set. Paid is what your card covered. Spent comes from the showings ledger. Left is what the campaign may still use.
Refunds
Whatever is not spent comes back when the campaign ends, or when you cancel. A turned-down ad is refunded in full.

§ Estimates

Before you pay
Every number is from the last 30 days in those spots, said as an estimate. A spot with no history is quoted as no supply, never as unlimited.
Small groups
Any count of people under ten prints as fewer than ten.

Sizes are on the sizes page; the rules are on the rules page.
